Operation Christmas

Layla and I attended an Artsy Mamas event a few weeks ago to pack shoe boxes for Operation Christmas.  It was filmed by MOMbo TV and you can catch us in the background a few times here:

Happy Thanksgiving

Did you know that venison was the centerpiece of the pilgrim’s Thanksgiving feast?  Or that Abraham Lincoln established Thanksgiving as an annual national holiday? Layla and I are learning all sorts of things this week. She’s been out of school for Fall Break so we’ve gotten to do lots of fun things together - baking, Christmas shopping, children’s museum, and she even got her first ice skating experience - with daddy of course. No ice skating for me and my belly!  We’re trying to fit in everything we can while we can I think.

It’s time to put in your guesses as to when this boy of ours will arrive:

Baby Game

I am officially the most pregnant I have ever been. Layla had arrived before I reached 38 weeks. I was so ready to have her, but I have yet to reach that point this time. Granted it will be wonderful for my belly to no longer be public domain! I’m so thankful for my health during this pregnancy - I’m a good 40lbs lighter, my blood pressure is remaining normal, and emotionally I am in such a good place. Most of the time I feel really wonderful, but my body definitely lets me know when I need to rest. I’ve had a few good rounds of contractions this past week, but nothing that sticks. I know 4 other mamas who were due within 2 weeks of me and 2 of the 4 have had their babies. It’s kind of fun seeing who will go next! Lincoln seems pretty content where he is, but Wednesday is a full moon so I’m hoping that will get his attention if nothing else! :)
