Tiny Spaces
Lately I have been thinking about what kind of space our family really needs to maintain homeostasis. It’s definitely more square footage than the little 200 sq ft efficiency apartment I lived in when I was 19. I loved it there once I got it all made up, but it was purely my, and Eddie the cat’s, space. I don’t think the 3 of us could call that home without hating each other at the end of the day. We’re here, inside, too much.
Then I started thinking about my dream of living out of a VW Westfalia for a summer. But that’s actually quite different. Sure we’d be crammed in there for many hours, but we’d be spreading out over new campgrounds, state parks, and such giving us time and space for ourselves. Plus we’d know it was temporary.
It’s fun to mull over. I am confident we’d all be fine with smaller spaces to call our own as long as we still had our own spaces and a separate spot to congregate. These tiny houses have been so much fun to browse through that I want to share:
